Commentaire Carmen Gold Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Vin Rouge produit par Vina Carmen sur , Chili-
18 (sur 20) by edwardragg Blogueur du vin
Appearance: dark purple, slight orange rim. Nose: several different black fruits (despite being single-varietal), good oak, with only some suggestions of secondary aromas from age. It’s a baby still really. Palate: quite big tannic structure here which is still angular and a bit unyielding. This wine was fortunately decanted at the tasting, however, and really started to open up. Concentrated fruit and decent oak, but not massively extracted. Conclusion: the fruit is sourced from a block of 44 year-old vines in the Maipo and results in what is clearly a very good wine. But it’s a bit too young still. Approach from 2010.
